About The Program
The Adult Echocardiography specialty prepares students to use ultrasound technology to evaluate the structure and function of the heart. Echocardiograms are among the most widely used diagnostic tools in the detection and treatment of heart disease.
Students learn to perform and interpret diagnostic studies that assess cardiac chambers, valves, and vascular structures. Training includes transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and stress echocardiography procedures.
Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science in Cardiovascular Technology and are eligible to apply to sit for registry examinations prior to graduation.
Prerequisites
Students may apply to the Associate of Applied Science program while completing prerequisite coursework. However, all required prerequisites must be successfully completed prior to official admission into the program.
